Free STEM Resources By Public Libraries

9/16/2024

.STEM is an acronym referring to the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields of study. The term was created for youth in schools from kindergarten through college to improve skills in these specific learning developments. STEM can be used in schools, in career fields, and in our everyday routines.

This article covers what exactly STEM is, the correlation to library services, the variety of STEM programs that are available in libraries, and the different youth age groups that libraries cater to when providing STEM educational materials and resources for free.

Support a Tennyson Family's Fundraiser for Shamida Ethiopia Orphanage

9/13/2024

A Lord Tennyson family is heading to Africa to visit an aunt who helps at a local orphanage, Shamida Ethiopia. This organization helps over 250 children every year, as well as educates young women about sexual education and parenting to help reduce the number of abandoned children. The family is raising money to help Shamida. They are asking fellow Tiger Families to consider making a $5 - $20 donation/family towards the cause. Alternatively, if you would rather donate items, the orphanage is also asking for Preemie diapers, formula (powder), or wipes as they took in 8 babies this week, contact Danielle through GoFundMe.
