Unlocking Young Minds: STEM Adventures at Lord Tennyson Elementary This Spring!

This spring, young innovators at Lord Tennyson Elementary have an exciting opportunity to dive into the world of STEM with the Engineering & Robotics - LEGO Spike Prime program! Designed for students in Grades 1-4, this hands-on course transforms learning into an adventure, blending creativity, coding, and engineering through interactive LEGO projects. Whether your child is a budding engineer or simply curious about robotics, this program offers a fun and engaging way to develop problem-solving skills, teamwork, and a love for technology.
Running from May 5 to June 23, offered by WIZE,  this seven-session program provides a structured yet playful environment where kids can explore robotics and programming fundamentals. With expert guidance and the power of LEGO® Spike sets, young learners will gain confidence while building, coding, and bringing their creations to life!

Young Rembrandts offers art classes for kids. Classes are built to be fun and children who participate in local Young Rembrandts drawing classes increase academic skills, fine motor skills, social skills, hand and eye coordination and confidence.

This Week: Coastal Dance Festival at MOA

Join us for the Coastal Dance Festival, taking place all next week at MOA! The Dancers of Damelahamid, in partnership with MOA and the Anvil Centre, present the 18th annual Coastal Dance Festival, a celebration of the stories, songs and dances of the Indigenous peoples of the Northwest Coast with national and international guest artists. There will be performances and activities throughout the week!
The Festival's Signature Performances will take place on March 4 and 5, against the powerful backdrop of MOA's Great Hall. On both evenings, the Dancers of Damelahamid will perform a site-specific excerpt of Raven Mother that features Raven sculptures, masks, regalia and dance. National and international guest artists round out the program each night with exquisite performances.

Vancouver Art Gallery Spring Break Camp.

Young artists between the ages of 7 and 10 will have the opportunity to explore the current exhibitions, Firelei Báez, Riopelle: Crossroads in Time and Emily Carr: Navigating an impenetrable Landscape, through hands-on activities and thought-provoking tours, led by the Gallery’s fun and engaging art educators and special guest artist, Janet Wang.
At the end of the week, we will celebrate with a Spring Break Camp exhibition. Final works will be displayed at the Gallery and shared with family and friends.

Storytelling & Métis Jigging with Viper Central - Event Page & Tickets
Experience the lively sounds of bluegrass, fiddle, and country music with Viper Central and Métis jigging dancer Jeanette Kotowich! This highly interactive show includes storytelling, a sing-along, and an opportunity for workshop participants to join the artists on stage, as well as an opportunity for all attendees to learn a few jigging moves from their seats, with vibrant visuals on the screen to enhance the experience.
Pre-concert activity: Jigging Workshop – Learn the basics of Métis jigging with Jeanette Kotowich, accompanied by live music from Viper Central.

Carnival of the Animals Reimagined - Event Page & Tickets
Squawk, stamp, and splash along with Inspired at the Chan’s 2nd annual Carnival of the Animals Reimagined! Camille Saint-Saëns’ beloved classic gets a whimsical updatewith narration, dance, and animation. Plus, we’ll open the show with George Gershwin’s Walking the Dog. A roaring delight for the whole family!
