Parent Welcome Letter from our new Administrators

1/10/2018

Below is the Parent Welcome Letter from Doug Roch and Regina Vosahlo, our new Administrators.

January 10, 2018

Dear Tennyson Families,

Happy New Year and welcome back to school for term two! We wanted to take the opportunity to introduce ourselves as the new Tennyson administrative leadership team. We both feel priviledged to be a part of the Tennyson community, and are very much excited to work with the students, parents, staff, and other partners within the school.  Regina comes to us from the North Vancouver School District where she was the Teacher Leader in French Immersion curriculum and initiatives implementation. She also has a diversity of teaching experience in French Immersion elementary classes, library and literacy. Prior to teaching in North Vancouver, she taught K-7 French Immersion classes in the Richmond School District. Doug has returned to the Vancouver School District (VSB) from working as an administrator in Surrey, and prior to this was an administrator in the VSB. He also has a diversity of teaching experience having been a classroom teacher at both the primary and intermediate levels, as well a resource/special education teacher.

In our first few days, we have had the opportunity to introduce ourselves to all of the classes, interact with many students in the hallways, lunchroom, and outside at recess and lunch, and also to meet a number of parents/family members who have been volunteering with various endeavours in the school. Everyone has been exceptionally welcoming! It is evident that Tennyson is an exceptional learning community, and we appreciate the ongoing involvement of our families. We very much look forward to working with you and your children. We appreciate your ongoing communication with, and support of, our amazing teachers and staff, and of the school as a whole. We both have a passion for student learning and social-emotional development, for promoting French language and French Culture, and for working alongside our students, families, and staff members in an educational partnership.

Thank you once again for the warm welcome to Tennyson!

Sincerely,

Regina & Doug
Tennyson Administrative Team
