Lord Tennyson offers a number of fun extracurricular activities for students. These change from year to year depending on teacher, parent, and funding support, but the following are typical programs. Bursaries are available for students who would otherwise not be able to participate due to financial hardship. Please see Mr Roch; all requests are kept confidential.

Cross Country
The Cross-Country Club runs in the fall for students from Kindergarten to Grade 7. Students meet for before-school training several times a week, and attend a few mini track-meets, ending with the district track meet. This is a fantastic club for making friends across year groups and a great way to kick off the school year.

Peer Tutuoring
The peer tutoring reading program consists of one-on-one reading sessions where older peers from Grade 6 are matched with readers from Grade 3. Trained tutors meet with their readers during the school day twice a week for 30 minutes at a time. This takes place during silent reading so that no classroom instruction is missed. The classroom teachers, in co-operation with the Learning Assistance teacher, select both the readers and the peer tutors. The French reading program occurs throughout the year and the English reading program occurs in the spring to facilitate the transition from Grade 3 French Immersion (100% French instruction) to Grade 4 (20% English instruction).
