Why we fundraise

Public education is funded by the government but it's nice to be able to offer some extras to enhance our childrens' education. How much needs to be raised each year, and how the money will be spent, is decided between the teachers, the school administration and the parents and voted on at the June PAC meeting. Each year the PAC applies for, and usually receives, the BC Gaming Grant ($ 8,240 for the 2022-2023 school year). Any extra money that is needed to meet our budget goal is raised through fundraising activities.

Here is a copy of the 2022/23 Budget and here are the 2022/23 line item descriptions.

Here is a detailed list of the resources and activities that the school administration and teachers have organized for the students and that the PAC financially supported this year.

Thanks to the phenomenal fundraising efforts of past families, the Tennyson PAC  has not fundraised  the 2022/2023 school year. In normal years when we do fundraise, these are the activities we usually undertake.

Ways to donate

1. The easiest way to donate to PAC is through the "Kick-Start" direct donations program. It launches in the Fall but you can donate anytime during the year.

You can donate directly to the PAC through online school cash online and you will receive a tax receipts from the VSB for donations over $10. This is how:
  • Visit School Cash Online
  • Choose from a list of donation amounts, or enter a specific amount.
  • Make sure E-Lord Tennyson PAC is selected as the Fund Destination
  • Click add to cart and then sign in to pay if you are not already signed in.

You can also donate by cheque (but unfortunately we can't issue a tax receipt). Please make cheques out to Lord Tennyson Elementary School and ask your child to slide it into the PAC mailbox.

2. Support these businesses and get a rebate to the school

Cobs Bread: Thank you to Tennyson parent Lisa for registering Tennyson in the Cobs Bread Dough Raiser Program. If you are ever shopping at Cobs Bread (2837 W Broadway or 2320 West 4th), mention that you would like your purchases to go towards Lord Tennyson Elementary ... we get 5% rebated to us! And tell your friends and family too please.

Mabel's Labels: A Lord Tennyson Elementary School account has been set up with Mabel's Labels so every time you buy anything from them 20% of the proceeds will go to the Tennyson PAC. Simply visit the website's campaigns.mabelslabels.com page and look for Lord Tennyson Elementary School in the school/organization drop down menu.

3. Support other school based fundraisers during the year.
