Make sure to come in your favourite costume and get in the spirit for a night of Halloween family fun!

To give all students a chance to come, the Howl is for Tennyson students and their immediate family (parents/guardians and siblings).

Halloween Howl 2025 overview
  • When: Thursday, October 30, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
  • Where: The Spooktacular Halls of Tennyson Elementary School
  • Tickets: $8 per person (everyone attending, including preschoolers and volunteers, must buy a ticket).
    • Bursaries are available - please email our principal, Sonja Rondestvedt.
    • E-tickets will go on sale through Showpass starting on October 19 at 8 p.m. PT
  • Ticket Guidelines: For fire regulations and the safety of everyone in the building, we need to abide by the occupancy limit of the school. To try and give more Tennyson students a chance to come, there will be a limit of 4 tickets per family (please email [email protected] if you have more than 2 kids Grade 7 and under). As well, only Tennyson students, their parents/guardian and siblings Grade 7 or under can attend.  If we have extra tickets after the first round of sales, we will open up ticket sales to older siblings.
  • Code Of Conduct: This is a family event, a parent/guardian needs to accompany and supervise their child. Children are expected to treat all volunteers with respect and kindness. Please leave any costume weapons at home.
Back by popular demand: Pumpkin-carving contest!

TTo participate, please pick up a pumpkin-carving contest entry form from the school office, and bring your carved pumpkins (or a photo of your pumpkin) and completed form to the front of the school before school starts on October 30th. Judging will happen during the day and the pumpkins will be on display during the event! At the end of the night, please remember to bring your creation home with you so that it doesn’t go missing in the clean-up.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE HALLOWEEN CARVERS!

Halloween Howl volunteering - How can you help?

The Howl can’t happen without you, our amazing parent volunteers. There are so many different volunteer positions that you’re bound to find something that suits you.
  • If you can’t volunteer on the night of the event, you can make treats for the bake sale and/or Jello for the Jello eating contest.
  • If you only have time before or after the party, you can volunteer to retrieve items from the storage lockers, help with decorating or clean-up, and return everything to the lockers afterward.
  • If you have time on the night of the Howl, you can help on the concession stand, or run the party games or activities. Slots usually last 30 minutes. These are fun jobs to sign up for with friends.
  • Last but not least, we need people to dress up and be Fortune Tellers, read spooky stories, and/or be a scary character in the Haunted House. The more actors the better. Don’t be shy, the room is dark, oh and you can scare your adult friends too!
Sign up to volunteer using the link in the PAC E-blasts.

Howl History

The Halloween Howl is the event of the year at Lord Tennyson with fun and games for all the students to enjoy! Each year it looks a little different but there can be a disco in the gym, games in the pods, food and drinks aplenty, batty bingo, scary storytelling, costume and pumpkin carving contests, fortune tellers, and the haunted house... Do you dare to go through it?
