2026 Spring Fling

Thursday, May 28, 5 to 8 p.m.!

This is a super-fun Tennyson families event, meaning parents are required to be on site to supervise their children, and we are able to welcome only Tennyson families only.

The amazing activities on offer for your kids and other Tennyson families:
  • Magician Vincent Lee stage magic (5:30 to 6:00 p.m.);
  • Beats by DJ Rock’N’Beau (on site 6 to 8 p.m.);
  • Tasty offerings of food trucks, bake sale, and concessions;
  • Challenge your kids to a sac race, or other lawn games on the field;
  • Create a cute memento of the night in the arts and crafts room;
  • Get inked….temporarily….at the temporary tattoos stations;
  • AND support local artisans and “makers” at the Makers Market.

Inclusive Hour 5 to 6 p.m.
Have little ones that get overwhelmed with some of these events? Consider coming by the Spring Fling between 5 and 6 p.m. Food trucks will be open for business and all other activities will be running, but the DJ will not be on site yet.

Food on site
  • Little Devils Woodfire Pizza food truck (cash or card)
  • Puerto México (cash or card)
  • Mini Donuts (cash or card)
  • Bake Sale (cash only)
  • Concession (chips, Bubly drinks - cash only)

Bake sale & concession
This event is funded by the PAC and any funds raised with the bake sale and concession. Please contribute bake sale items!
  • The concession and bake sale funds raised are important for funding this event.
  • Store-bought (VSB preferred) and homemade items are accepted.

Parking
  • Please respect the “residents only” parking signage around the school.
  • Consider parking further from the school. There is lots of 2 hr and unrestricted street parking along Cypress St. south of 12th Avenue.
  • Bike or walk to this event - we have lots of room for bikes on site.

Volunteering

It is always fantastic to see the Tennyson parent community step up and lend a hand before (setup), during, and after (clean up) these events! Once again, we need YOUR help to pull it off! To volunteer, please contact [email protected].

Roles include providing bake sale goods, volunteering for games, selling treats and concession items, and supporting the arts and crafts. Sign up with a friend today!

Two new roles for 2026:
  1. Craft Station co-lead: The ever talented Cinzia (KID AND GRADE) will be creating a craft station again this year. We are looking for someone to share this role in case Cinzia is not available on the day of the event.
  2. First Aid Attendant: Anyone with a St. John’s Level 1 certification to be on-site when we run the tug of war. Tug of war can be scheduled for a time when the First Aid Attendant is available. We are unable to run this challenge without a First Aid Attendant at the time (purely precautionary).

Makers Market

The Tennyson Community Makers Market is back for the 2026 Spring Fling. All Tennyson parents and caregivers are welcome to apply to take part. This is a chance for the Tennyson community to share their talents and support one another. Think crafts, candles, photography, vintage items...show us what you've got! Vendors will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis (so email us ASAP) and you will receive a confirmation email once we have confirmed your spot.

Please note:
  • Adult vendors only please, no students.
  • Vendors are responsible for their own set up, clean up, and customer payment collection.
  • One table per vendor will be provided.
  • No food or drinks.

Please email [email protected] with your name and a description of what you would like to sell.
