Jobs we need help with right now
We are always looking for people to join the PAC and help with activities. Let us know (at pac@lordtennyson.ca) if you want to help with any of the following:
The weekly PAC Corner and email blast message writer
Hot Lunch Leads
Set up and manage the hot lunch program, This involved liaising with the school admin and vendors to decide what days work, organizing the advertising and payment for the lunches, coordinating the volunteer schedule and ensuring the food is delivered and distributed each week. This is a big job! We think it would be super for some friends to sign up together to share the tasks. The time commitment is 30 - 60 minutes per day during set up and launch of each session and 1 to 2 hours weekly otherwise.
Noon Hour Program Lead
Work with the school administration to support the noon-hour program. This involves liaising with the school admin and noon hour program providers to decide what activities will be suitable for the students, advertising the activities and helping them to run smoothly.
Diversity and Inclusion
The Diversity and Inclusion Committee advocates for an equitable, diverse and inclusive Tennyson. The committee meets once a month for about an hour (8 meetings per year).
Quebec Futures Committee
The Quebec Futures Committee requires parents and caregivers to guide this program and facilitate the year over year transfer of information and resources to parents planning for their child’s Quebec Exchange. The Quebec trip has not happened for the past 3 grade 7 classes and the structure of the trip may well need to be examined to ensure its relevance moving forward. Meetings are approximately 3x per year. Representation across all grades is important. No previous experience with the Quebec Exchange is required. More info can be found HERE.
Planetary Health
Are you interested in sustainable education and programs? Would you like to meet with like minded parents and caregivers? This is not yet a committee, but an idea germinating. Please let us know if you'd like to be involved in this initiative.
