Parking & Traffic Safety
Traffic is always challenging at the school, given its residential setting. Please make every effort to adhere to the City of Vancouver parking regulations and think of safety first at all times – even if you hear the second buzzer going off! Ticketing is extremely common - consider yourself warned!

Reminders and requests:
If you are able to help put out safety cones and “No Stopping” signs in front of the school on West 10th Avenue, or behind the school on West 11th Avenue, please let the office know.
There are three types of 'no parking' zones around the school with subtle differences:
- NO STOPPING. We really appreciate all those parents who observe the no stopping areas around the school. Cars are not permitted to stop under any circumstance. You may be ticketed or towed if you park in this zone (Section 17.1 of Street and Traffic Bylaw No. 2849). The No Stopping zone provides a place for emergency vehicles to stop and access the school. Keeping this area clear also provides a temporary pullout for drivers when they meet oncoming cars that cannot pass due to the parked cars on both sides of the street.
- NO PARKING. In this zone you can park a vehicle, for no more than 5 minutes, while loading or unloading persons or material (as per section 17.6A of Street and Traffic bylaw No. 2849). You should not park here if you are going to linger around the schoolyard. You may be ticketed or towed if you stop for longer than 5 minutes.
- NO PARKING EXCEPT WITH PERMIT. These zones must be adhered to or you will be towed. Please respect our neighbours.
Reminders and requests:
- Please drive around the school in a clockwise direction in order to minimize congestion and conflict.
- Please help your child learn to cross the street safely and not jaywalk.
- U-turns are both illegal and dangerous. Please put our students’ safety ahead of your convenience.
- Get a few extra steps in by parking on the south side of 12th ave.
