Need some inspiration? Here are photos from last year's lunch. Thanks for helping us show Tennyson's staff how thankful we are for all that they do. Host a block party on your street with your neighbourson June 16 & 17 PLUS new t his year June 30 - July 2
Kitsilano does something different for Car Free Day. Instead of holding a celebration on a main street, people throughout Kits have block parties with their neighbours. The block parties are as individual as the people who pull them together. Some have dancing, some have music, some have couches, chairs and carpets in the middle of the street and some share chips and a drink together! All of them are a fun, relaxing chance to hang out with the people who live in your neighbourhood. Kitsilano Car Free Day provides step-by-step toolkit, barricades, insurance, city application, and more. Find out more at www.carfreevancouver.org/kits and on Facebook at Car Free Vancouver Day: Kitsilano or email us at kitsilano@carfreevancouver.org It was a spectacular sunny April day and the students of all ages at Tennyson Elementary participated in the Keep Vancouver Spectacular neighbourhood cleanup event. The students celebrating Earth Week, removed litter on the streets near and around the school to keep their community clean. Big thank you to M. Roch for organizing this fantastic community event. Also, thank you to Mme Simone and her class for putting together a beautiful Earth Day mural for the foyer of our school. |
