We’ve pulled together a few resources we hope might be able to help.  Find information about   a fundraiser organized by a Tennyson family, tips on how to talk with your children about the war, and resources for you  and your family if you are feeling overwhelmed.

  • Approval of Minutes, June 8, 2021 meeting
  • QF Quick Overview
  • QF Financial update
  • Quebec 2021 update (PAC Chair)
  • Quebec 2022 update (Q22 or PAC Chair)
  • Quebec 2023 update (Q23)
  • The Future of Quebec Trips
    • Over view of the trip
    • With the trip cancelled 3 years in a row, how can we plan for Quebec Exchange amidst uncertainty? What are the concerns around the trip: covid, others?
    • What are the benefits: experience, French exposure, community service, bonding, other? Benefits to the school: Quebec runs some of our major programs / events
    • If the trip remains uncertain, how does that impact fundraising and parent buy in? How can communication be improved regarding the program? How do you plan for a trip in uncertainty?
    • Some parent concerns that have been raised:
      • How is it determined that any given year WANTS a Quebec trip? Is there a vote to determine this before organizing begins? (what happens to future years if one year opts out?)
      • How and when are parent concerns addressed?
      • How are the fundraising goals determined and how much pressure is too much? Is the process inclusive?
    • How do we grow the Quebec Futures Committee? The committee is the guardian of the QF fund and also keeper of knowledge for each successive Quebec year. If the committee is not fully subscribed, what issues does that pose?
    • New Business items
  • Thank you!

COVID-19 Rapid Test Kits for students from the BC Government have arrived.

On Monday, March 7th, each Grade 3-7 student at Tennyson Elementary School will be sent home with 1 box containing five test kits.

For Grade K-2 students, Mme Kateryna and M. McEwan will be distributing the kits on Monday and Tuesday (March 7th and 8th) at 8:30-9:00 am directly to the parents. The tables will be set by the school front entrance at Maple Street, and all Grade K-2 parents are invited to pick up their Rapid Test kits in person.

Please note there no additional kits available at this time, and we won’t be providing another kit in case of a misplaced kit.

Please note that the instructions for the Rapid Test Kits are in the package. Also the information on how to administer the tests can also be found here: http://www.bccdc.ca/Health-Info-Site/Documents/COVID-19_Tests/POC_screening/RapidTestInstructions_Artron.pdf

If a child is absent on Monday, March 7th  (for Grades 3-7) or you are unable to pick up your kit in person (for Grades K-2), please contact the school office to arrange to pick up your child's test kits.
