With the upcoming SkyTrain extension from VCC-Clark to Arbutus to be completed in 2025, TransLink is studying a potential further extension to UBC to better connect the region and meet transit demand all along the Broadway Corridor today and into the future.
The 99 B-Line bus route on the Broadway Corridor is the busiest bus route in Canada and the United States. It is also one of the region’s most consistently overcrowded bus routes. Overcrowded buses lead to longer and less reliable travel times, and also longer wait times due to bus bunching. This reduces the overall attractiveness of transit compared to driving. TransLink is currently undertaking technical planning work and engagement with Indigenous Nations, stakeholders and the public to help us confirm the objectives of a potential SkyTrain extension to UBC, and evaluate possible route options and station locations. From now until May 14, we invite you to have your say on a potential Millennium Line UBC Extension. Visit the engagement page to learn more about the topics, take the survey, and register for the online open house on Saturday May 1st. (https://www.translink.ca/ubcextension).
