French tutor for the Summer - 2023

6/11/2023

Dear Parents,

If you are looking for an authentic and committed French tutor that has profound love for the French language and a strong commitment in creating an engaging and dynamic classroom environment, you knocked on the right classroom door. One where students feel comfortable to explore, question, and express themselves in French.

Let me introduce myself as a dedicated and passionate French tutor specializing in teaching children and teenagers. I am a native French teacher from France. I have graduated with a Bachelor of Foreign and French Language at Charles de Gaulle Lille III. Also I have a diploma in teaching French as a foreign language (DAEFLE). Furthermore I have been working as a French teacher for 6 years now in several schools and countries (Colombia, Mexico and Canada) including 4 years at the French Alliance of Vancouver teaching to French Immersion students. That's why I master the French Immersion Curriculum thanks to my BC teaching experience.

I understand that language acquisition is not just about grammar rules and vocabulary lists, but also about incorporating interactive activities, games, songs, and stories. By using a variety of teaching methods, I ensure that your children actively participate in the learning process, making each lesson an adventure.

I strongly believe in the power of collaboration between educators and parents. As partners in your children's education, I am committed to maintaining open lines of communication. Indeed I will provide regular progress updates, offer suggestions for at-home practice, and be available to address any questions or concerns you may have.

Classes can be online via Meet or in person as well. Choose the option that suits you best.

Thank you for considering me as your French tutor for your children.

And let the journey begin by contacting me at [email protected]

Interested in K-pop, Korean culture, and language or just volunteering?

6/7/2023

Here's an opportunity to interact and exchange culture/language with Korean students this Summer. From July 31 to August 10, there will be a summer camp for students from Korea aged 6 to 14 years old. The event will be held at the SFU main campus in Burnaby.

We are looking for buddies and volunteers to participate in the program, which consists of various activities, games, trips, and more!

There will be fun K-pop dance contests, language exchanges, Korean food challenges, etc. to mutually explore the cultures of Canada and Korea.

This opportunity is open to both students and adults (parents) of all ages and can choose to participate as little or as much as possible. We can accept a limited number of students into our full 2-week program (Monday-Friday) as participants where they can spend the whole day with us at no cost,  For the avid outdoors type, we are also looking for volunteers that would like to go on a camp trip (July 22-July 28) together.

Please email Stu Hong (parent of Sarah and Shin Hong) at [email protected] for more information.
