At the second annual Tiger Tail Presentation, our graduating Grade 7 students symbolically passed on their school spirit by presenting the Kindergartners with their tiger tails. Then the students showed their tiger spirit by belting out the Tennyson song and dancing to the Survivor classic, Eye of the Tiger.
The Grade 7's had a fabulous day on Tuesday, June 26, to celebrate the end of an era at Tennyson!
The girls looked beautiful in their dresses and the boys looked dashing in pants, ties and jackets. There were family photos for those who wanted images on their mantle or to send to Grandma, followed by a lovely ceremony, attended by none other than Dr Suess himself! OK, that’s not quite true, but M Roche’s reading of “Oh, the places you’ll go” was a close second! It was a poignant reminder of what we can make of ourselves if we put in a little effort - it may or may not have also brought a couple of tears to some eyes in the audience. The group picture on the front steps of Tennyson was a great reminder of how different our school will look very soon. There was also a great picture taken in front of the well-known Tennyson sign on the corner of 10th and Maple, with a fabulous quote. The day ended with a wonderful potluck dinner at Locarno beach - the sun stayed around until late and there was even swimming for some brave souls! Overall, a lovely day to mark the end of Elementary and the impending start to High School! |
