Please come join for the official "good bye" on Saturday, June 7 from 2pm to 7pm.
General Gordon is located at 6th & Bayswater. The three kindergarten classes recently had a three week unit where they received caterpillars in cocoons and just released beautiful butterflies. The kids loved it! The photos are of some of M. Brian's students and other friends as they released a few butterflies after school. A message from the French Language Children's Department of the Vancouver Public Library:
Dear friends of the French Language Children’s Collection, I hope this finds you well. If you are receiving this it is because you expressed interest in the Vancouver Public Library’s public consultations on our French children’s collection this past Fall. At that time there was considerable interest expressed in French children’s magazines. Accordingly, we requested and received a number of samples and we are again seeking your input into which of these we should purchase for our children’s collection. Starting today, Friday 23 May, they will be available for you to peruse in the children’s French collections area of the Kitsilano Branch Library http://www.vpl.ca/branches/details/kitsilano_branch . You will be able to indicate which magazines you like best by sticking dots on them (exactly as you did at the Focus Group events). The magazines will remain there for two weeks, until Friday 6 June. After that, our Selections Division will assess them in terms of their popularity, and some will be centrally ordered for various branches (likely appearing there in several months time). They are really very attractive publications, so I hope you will enjoy the opportunity to look them over. And if you know others who might be interested in participating in this event at the Kitsilano Branch, please let them know. Thank you very much again for your participation in our consultations process. You have no doubt seen many of the books you selected on our shelves; your choices have made an impact on our book collection, and we look forward to using your input again in this format area. GIRLsmarts will be hosting two full-day Computer Science workshops for girls in grade 7:
Both workshops will be held downtown at the SAP office, near the Yaletown skytrain station. These workshops are the same as the one held on February 15, so please do not register if you have already attended. Registration can be done via the website: https://www.cs.ubc.ca/grades-k-12/girlsmarts/grade-7-girls Thank you to Dianne Sankey for organizing the Staff Appreciation Luncheon today. She had loads of help from parents who contributed wonderful dishes, useful cash, and valuable time. Thank you to everyone for showing your support to all of the staff at Tennyson who give so much to our children. Thanks to Oasis Flowers (12th & Arbutus) for donating the beautiful flowers! Another great week of Track and Field mini-meets! The seniors were first up on Tuesday and the juniors are next up on Thursday. What great team spirit we have! |
