Attend Event
Did you know that the Earth is tilted? Ever wonder if animals are affected by this rotation or if other planets have seasons just like the Earth? Would Mars be a good place to take a snowboard on your next winter holiday?  During this 45-minute live Zoom webinar we will investigate the movement of the Sun, Earth and Moon as they dance around each other in the sky, and learn how their orbits and rotations affect the seasons. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with our team and ask questions during the session. The webinar will incorporate big ideas and content from British Columbia’s grade 1 science curriculum and is designed for kids 5-8 years old. We hope you can make it! Cheers, H.R. MacMillan Space Centre

SHATTERED: A Wicked Walkthrough @ The Beaumont Studios

10/18/2020

We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming to bring you SHATTERED @ The Beaumont Studios: A Wicked Walkthrough.

A little less spooky - a little more kooky - this campy tour has a lil something for everyone. Featuring 3D visuals from Go2 Productions - an award winning projection mapping team that travels the globe projecting images on castles, skyscrapers & more.

While we originally said our tour was 8-11+  we have definitely had some younger kids come through with no problems!

Bring your bubble, your weird vibes, and enjoy some drinks in the middle of the tour in our outdoor courtyard.

New Parking Regulation - West 11th Avenue

10/8/2020

Picture
Some of you may have noticed new signage on West 11th Ave this week. The City has added a school bus only no stopping zone on a small section of that block.  This is to facilitate an accessible school bus that needs safe and barrier free access to the school at both drop-off and pickup.  Please do not park in this no stopping area, even for a moment. A reminder that in a “no parking” zone you are allowed to stop your car (and remain in your car) for up to 5 minutes, but in a “no stopping” zone you can be issued a ticket for just stopping your vehicle, even if you do not turn off or exit your vehicle.  Additionally, we know that the parking around Tennyson is challenging and has been an ongoing issue for years.   We are working with VSB to find out more about their plan for drop-off zones and parking signage around the new building, and hope to have an update for you soon.  We appreciate your patience with this.
