If you tried to send an email to the Tennyson Ski Club coordinator on Wednesday or Thursday, the address was wrong. Sorry about the confusion. The Ski & Snowboard page has been updated and the email address to use for John is [email protected]. Thank you to John for organizing this super club.
Thanks to Dianne Sankey for organizing this fun, community building event.
...or a yummy idea for Christmas presents? Purdy's chocolate ordering ends this week - paper orders need to be in by Thursday (Nov. 29) and Online orders by Friday (Nov. 30). Order now as the Tennyson PAC gets 25% of all orders. See our Purdy's Chocolate Ordering page for more information. Mark your calendars! The Tennyson Ski and Snowboard Club will be back on at Grouse Mountain this coming February, for kids in Grade 2 to Grade 7. Registration forms and fee information will be available online at www.lordtennyson.ca (or soon after) and in front of the office. The ski club will run after school (until about 8:30pm) on four consecutive Fridays: February 1, 8, 15 & 22. Congratulations to the Grade 6 Girls Volleyball Team who won against False Creek Elementary in a hard fought battle today. Tennyson won all four games, all which had tight scores. Way to go girls! The PAC is pleased to announced that they have approved a number of new technology purchases for the school
The 10 iPads purchased by the PAC last year are very popular at the school, so we look forward to increasing students' access to these devices. From the school newsletter: As you may be aware, Hastings Elementary is our sister school. They have asked us if we could provide two Christmas hampers for two families in need. A great idea is to have a whole class involved. If you are interested in leading this project with your class, please contact Mme Lavoie. She has the family’s profile and wish list. The Christmas hampers will be picked up by a social worker from Hastings Elementary on December 12th. A huge thank you to all the Tennyson families who have donated to this year's Winter Clothing Drive -- your generosity is greatly appreciated. We've received boxes and boxes and boxes of warm winter clothing for donating to families at our sister schools in East Vancouver. If you haven't donated yet, there's still time... the drive wraps up tomorrow, Wednesday, November 14. For more information, see our Winter Clothing Drive page. Thank you to Sally Otto for arranging this year's Winter Clothing Drive. Check this out. The new Vancouver Inspiration Pass is a free cultural and recreation pass available to all Vancouver residents that will get you and your family into all kinds of cool places around town for two weeks. Science World, Vancouver Aquarium, Swimming, Skating, Museums, VSO, and much more.
Visit the website for more information. Sign-up is through the Vancouver Public Library. Demand is high and so are the wait times, but might as well get your name on this list now. A big congratulations to Mme Anderson who had a baby girl named Audrey on October 21. Mme. Anderson is our Strings teacher, and is now on maternity leave.
Welcome to Mme. Candice Fong who is replacing Mme Anderson as our Strings teacher for the remainder of the school year. |
