10.PAC meeting dates: Jan 17, Feb 28, Apr 11, May 16, June 20 AGM 11.New Business Items IMPORTANT DATES Friday, Nov 26: Pro-D Day (No School) Dec 18 – Jan 4: Winter Break Monday, Jan 17: PAC Meeting A HUGE thank you to all the volunteers who contributed to today's community build! You were amazing! Habitat was effusive in their praise of the quality of work and the speed with which everything got done. The food and drink volunteers each arrived at the perfect time with just the right amount of delicious treats so there was nothing wasted. Jackie Corlett and Charlene Phung did a great job of keeping it all running smoothly. And now our security volunteers are busy protecting the site. All in all, a successful Tennyson community project and everyone had a great time! Habitat still has a few more tweaks to make before VSB inspects the structure later next week. Once it’s approved, temporary wood chips will be brought in to fill the surface. Rubberized surface will be added in the summer (thank you to Katherine Hazen and Leora Fenner for organizing the grants for this!) Fingers crossed, the kids will be enjoying the playground early December. Wahoo! Our gratitude also goes out to Tracey Shaw for organizing the community install. Katherine Hazen and Tara Snape, who have both left Tennyson, were instrumental in creating the playground design. Our new playground would not have been possible without the generosity and foresight of families who's little tigers are now in high school and university: Jane Gardner, who led the charge to start a playground fund back in 2013/14, Toni Botham, Fiona Davis Brown, previous PACs who believed in this "future project", Grade 6 families who's excess Quebec funding was made available for the playground, Tennyson parents and the community that contributed to fundraising events over the years - thank you for buying all those wine raffle tickets!!. We can't thank all you enough! Our thanks also to the staff and admin at Tennyson, especially our principal, Doug Rough, for your patience and support in the process. MERCI BEAUCOUP! The annual Wine Raffle is one of the most popular fundraisers that the Tennyson Grade 6rs offer to raise money for their Quebec trip. Get your tickets now!
