Used battery collection at Lord Tennyson:
You can now deposit any used batteries from your home in the small brown bin in front of the office and the Zero Waste team will recycle them. This is an ongoing program offered to Tennyson families to keep batteries out of the landfill. Thank you to Dreama Lee and Tai Scott - our Zero Waste heroes! Thank you to everyone who donated old cell phones, pagers, etc. We collected 28 cell phones for the Recycle My Cell Challenge and will now receive $1 for every phone recycled and qualify for a prize of $500. The prize will be awarded in February.
In addition to the phones, many chargers, batteries, etc. were donated and will be recycled as well. All of your efforts will ensure these items stay out of the landfill. Thanks again for everyone who helped out in this effort. This is the fist of a 5 part series looking at concussions at the high school level:

The Lord Tennyson PAC is pleased to offer 30 - 40 students from grades 2 to 7 the opportunity to go downhill skiing or snowboarding at Grouse Mountain with the Ski and Snowboard Club on Friday evenings in February. Participating students must own and be able to carry their own equipment. The program will run after school on 4 Fridays - Jan 23, Jan 30, Feb 6, & Feb 13, 2015 For more information, registration forms, and prices, please see our Tennyson Ski & Snowboard Club page. A huge thank you to everyone who made the Kickstart fundraising campaign so successful. The final count is now in. With your help, we have raised an amazing, terrific, whopping, great, fabulous, stupendous $16,630. This will go a long way to help support programs at the school and enrich the experience for all of our children. Merci beaucoup. (You will receive your charitable donation tax receipts in the new year.)
Thanks to Lori Velisek for sending in this blog entry about parental influence on kids' sporting experience:
http://sirc.ca/blog/parental-influence-kids-sporting-experience The Gr 6 girls volleyball team had a great set of games at Shaughnessy Elementary this afternoon. Tennyson Team 1 won all of their games and Tennyson Team 2 won all but one of their games (they were only beat by Tennyson Team 1!). Thank you to Coach Goran (Maria's dad) for all of his work with the girls. Here is Ms Anderson's Nov 12 newsletter for Gr 4-7 strings students:
