A Howling Good 30th Anniversary

From perennial favourite Von Schtinko's Lab, the terrifying Haunted House and funtastic carnival games, Tennyson's 30th Anniversary Halloween Howl was a smashing success.

Thanks to the crack team of parent volunteers who swooped in Thursday and Friday after school,  the gym, hallways and classrooms were transformed into a creepy, spooky haunt for the more than 800 revelers to enjoy.  With the re-design of the gym the school really looked phenomenal!

 Screams of excitement were heard all down the halls from Hockey to Haunted House to Cake Walk where there were more than 75 cakes to be won!

The pumpkin carving contest judges had the tough job of picking winners from among the more than 80 amazing entries. Check out the winners here.  And judging the costume contest wasn’t any easier.  What an incredibly creative group of families we have at Tennyson! The list of costume contest winners is posted in the school lobby and students can claim their prizes in the office.

 Of course, it's not a Tennyson event without fabulous food; we have Grad 2017 parents and students to thank for delicious Fried Rice, Pizza, Sushi and treats in the cafeteria.

 From everyone who had a spooctacular time at the Howl,  an enormous thank you to Howl Co-Chairs Borja Fisher Brown, Martes Farrugia and Ravena Berar as well as the fabulous coordinators who headed up rooms or took on other key organizational roles.  An additional thanks goes  to guest goalies Noah and Tudor.  And finally a huge shout out to all the amazing parents who volunteered to work on the night, and those who came to set up and clean up. There wouldn't be a Howl without you.

On a practical matter, any uncollected pumpkins have been moved to 1895-West 10th Avenue (the house kitty corner from Tennyson on the North East corner of Cypress). The pumpkins are lined up on the walk inside the cedar hedge. Sadly, they couldn't stay in the school over the weekend because they rot! We apologize in advance for any pumpkins that may not have survived - several were starting to decompose already and needed to be composted.
