Thank you to Quebec 2015 for hosting a night of talent, Silent Auction bidding, and food for the Tennyson community. It was an amazing kick-off to the holiday season and a chance to catch up with old and new friends. As always, watching the students bravely take to the stage to perform was a highlight. And the friendly competition and delighted shouts of glee when parents won the items they were bidding on was fun too! Please keep in mind that businesses donated items for the Silent Auction so, if you saw an item from a particular business, they supported us ... we should support them! Thank you to the over 100 local businesses and people that donated to the Silent Auction this year. And thanks to the bidders ... we trust you found a good deal! The wine raffle winners are listed below the photos ... congratulations to you all (it will be me one of these years!). We only got photos from Sets 5 and 6 ... please send along a photo of your child (blog@lordtennyson.ca) if you would like it posted here. Wine Raffle Winners (contact Ward at ward.stirrat@gmail.com)

The senior girls volleyball team completed the zone final games today at Lord Kitchener school. The Tennyson girls had tough opponents, but at the same time, they played at their best. As a reward for their hard work, enthusiasm, and supportive team play during the last month and a half, Mme Lavoie will arrange for a pizza party at school during one lunch hour. Mme Janesse, the coach, said that she is proud of how much the girls progressed and appreciates the extra help from Jonah (Kaitlin's mom), Mme Lavoie, and the parents for their support. Here is the team from left to right: Mme Janesse, Kaitlin, Jasper, Julia I, Dana, Katie, Julia F, Mila, Isabel S, Isabel V, Samantha, Sasha and Mme Lavoie. The cheering from the supportive parents could barely be contained at tonight's strings concert. The students who are part of this optional VSB program which begins in grade 4 played beautifully. The sounds of violins, violas, and cellos filled the gym and the "standing room only" crowd went wild. It was so exciting to see how far the grade 4 group has come in less than three months and equally exciting to see how far they progress over the years. Thank you very much to the wonderful VSB strings teacher, Ms Anderson. Congratulations to the students ... we are so proud of you. |
