District PAC Letter to VSB Board of Trustees

VSB Board of Trustees by-election

 The Vancouver School Board District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) would like to extend congratulations to the nine elected members of the board of trustees.  We are encouraged by the diversity and mix of experience and fresh contributors and look forward to supporting the new board as they transition into their roles of governance on behalf of the students and parents/guardians of Vancouver.

We would also like to recognize all of the candidates who gave of their time and energy even though they were not successful.  They brought to the conversation a passion and perspective that it is always welcome.

Finally, we anticipate renewing our relationship to the board through its liaison to DPAC.  We would welcome Dr. Janet Fraser back to this role, or whomever the board feels can best serve in this capacity.  We would like to formally extend an invitation to the liaison to attend our next meeting on Nov. 09, along with Interim Superintendent John Lewis, to provide parents with a district update.
 
There is much to do, we look forward to beginning the journey.
