This short animation was done by Mme Lapierre's Gr 5 students students at the Museum of Vancouver in a one-day workshop called Animating History on October 27, 2015. The students were taught about historical fiction before storyboarding the story of Vancouver's 1907 race riots. A short animation demonstration followed that taught them how to do cut out animation. Sound was recorded separately after groups had completed their second scene. Animating History is a partnership of the Museum of Vancouver and the Reel 2 Real International Film Festival for Youth. Here is the animation.
