DPAC update

The BCCPAC Annual General Meeting is May 4 & 5th in Richmond. DPAC is sending a representative and the Lord Tennyson PAC will send our proxy vote with the DPAC representative. 

Details of the candidates for BCCPAC positions to be voted on and the 14 proposed resolutions (at the time of the DPAC general meeting April 25) are included in the booklet.https://bccpac.bc.ca/images/AGM/2024_AGM_Booklet.pdf.

The following resolutions can be found beginning on page 42 of the 2024 AGM booklet. Lord Tennyson PAC will use a proxy vote, signed over to the DPAC representative attending. At this time, the plan is to vote as outlined below, this is in line with the DPAC vote. We are open to feedback from the parent community. We have highlighted one resolution that may require further discussion and welcome this if you run into one of us this week, or via email at [email protected].

• 2024.01 Change to BCCPAC Bylaw 11.1 (Special Resolution) - agree
• 2024.02 Change to BCCPAC Bylaw 7.7 (Special Resolution) - agree
• 2024.03 Change to BCCPAC Bylaw 3.1 (Special Resolution) - agree
• 2024.04 Include School Districts in Consultation for Supervised Consumption Sites - seeking feedback from the broader parent community. General feeling is that there is room for amendments to the wording of the proposers positioning statement. 
• 2024.05 Community Gaming Grant for Intramural/Extramural School Athletic Equipment - suggest they re-word the positioning statement to reflect “as long as it’s not taking away from other activities (band, arts, etc)". If this occurs, vote in agreement. 
• 2024.06 Membership Fees Update - agree
• 2024.07 Enhancing Student and Family Awareness of E-Scooter Laws in British Columbia - agree
• 2024.08 Equitable Access to Transportation for Students - agree (affects other districts more than it affects VSB)
• 2024.09 Funds for Outdoor Sun Safety Enhancements in Schools - agree
• 2024.10 Increase Budget Allocation to Address Deferred Maintenance Issues - agree
• 2024.11 Enhance Annual Facilities Grant (AFG) Funding for School Districts and Publish the Budget Formula - agree
• 2024.12 Attendance at Board and Committee Meetings - agree
• 2024.13 Online Availability of BCCPAC Policies for Members - agree 
• 2024.14 Sharing of BCCPAC Minutes & Reports with Members - agree​
