Final lunch session - some exciting news!

3/5/2014

Ordering for the Final Lunch Session will open Saturday, March 8 and will close Sunday, March 23 (during Spring Break).  Please order early so that you do not forget over Spring Break. The lunch administrator will be away over Spring Break ... ordering early will allow you to ask questions and get help if needed.
Ordering through Munchalunch on the bottom left side of our home page. If this is your first time ordering - WELCOME - you will need to set up an account and assign children. It is user-friendly and fun!

What are the options?
Sushi Mondays in April, May, and June 2 & June 9.
Pizza Wednesdays in April, May, and June 4 & June 11.
Sports Day Lunch on Friday, June 20 (this is the only lunch offered in the last two weeks of school).
Five Buck Friday Lunches in April!!

Pick some, pick all, pick only Sports Day ... the choices are practically endless.

Yes, you read that correctly, in April you could get away with only making lunches on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Five Buck Friday Lunches are a PILOT PROJECT. We are trying out a new option to see if it could make sense for next year - no guarantees! Hot lunches will be provided by Calhoun's on Broadway.  We have tasted (and they passed our taste test) but now you can find out if they pass your child's test! Each menu offers something different so that your child can try a variety of items. We will ask for feedback at the end.
Because this is a PILOT PROJECT (and requires a bunch more volunteer hours from a variety of people), we will not offer cancellations, refunds, etc for the Friday lunches.  It is only 3 Fridays (one Friday in April is a holiday) - so, not a huge commitment.  Think of it as a trial and enjoy an easier Friday morning.

It will be a "bring your own water bottle" and "no dessert" kind of party. Must keep it simple and healthy!

Here is what we will try out on Fridays (the variety is on purpose so that kids can see and taste as many options as possible):
Friday, April 4
mac & cheese $5
cheese & potato perogies $5
chicken samosa * $5
fusilli with meat bolognese $5
Friday, April 11
teriyaki vegetables on rice $5
mac & cheese $5
butter chicken with rice ** $5
meat lasagne *** $5
Friday, April 25 ****
chicken wrap $5
veggie wrap $5
fusilli with meatballs $5
fusilli w/ veggie bolognese $5
* lightly curry spiced
** lightly spiced butter chicken
*** contains a bit of spinach but no mushrooms
**** Friday, April 25 is also a Gr 6/7 Friday lunch ... please do not order from this menu if your child prefers to eat out.

Sports Day Lunch
Panago pizza slices, fresh fruit cups, fresh veggie cups, frozen yogurt tubes, homemade oatmeal choc chip cookies, juice boxes

The avocado sushi is to big to eat. It is also brown and squishy

Natalya - make sure you tell your mom to order something different for the next session! It is big (like the California roll) and I get the sushi guy to cut it into 8 instead of 6 pieces but it can still be tricky for little mouths.
