Thank you to Jelena Corak for sending along this blog post and the photos. The volleyball season has almost come to an end. Tennyson Junior girls (grade 6's) have done a fantastic job. They practised very hard every Tuesday and Thursday morning, and were very enthusiastic and excited about playing tournaments against five other schools every Tuesday afternoon, right after school. We had two teams (A & B) due to a large number of girls who wanted to play. Team A came second in our competing zone, losing only three games to Lord Kitchener, and hence have qualified for the Zone Finals, which is going to take place on December 3, at Queen Elizabeth School. Team B also had very strong results coming fourth in our competing zone. The girls were just three points shy of qualifying for the Zone Finals. We would like to say a special thank you to Mme Lavoie and Mme Lorieau who alternated in attending all the games, and Mme Lichimo who was a VSB representative for all the practices twice a week. And, finally, a big thank you to our coach, Alex (Yana's dad), his most enthusiastic assistant coach, Goran (Maria's dad), and a Thursday practice helper, Robert (Audrey's dad) who worked so hard with the girls, making sure that they maintained a positive attitude, stayed focused, and had lots of confidence.
