I think we use that pun every year, but really Friday night at Tennyson was a spooktacular! The Halloween Howl team did an amazing job transforming the Tennyson halls into a fun and spooky Halloween haunt with entertainment for everyone. The big kids and gore lovers got their fill of horror in the graveyard and haunted house. There were creepy stories, arts and crafts, and batty bingo for the younger set. The haunted hockey, games in the gym, jello eating contest and prize crawl in the courtyard added to the fun and the evening was saved for posterity with photos at the Photo Booth. The highlight of the night for most kids was DJ Rock N Beau who was spectacular. Between the singing and the jumping and the dancing, my kids were exhausted by the end of the night. The highlight of the night for parents was the delicious treats at the bake sale. Thank you for everyone who brought the amazing treats. The Halloween Howl showcases the abundance of talent at Tennyson. The creativity shown by both students and parents is unparalleled: the pumpkins were amazing, the costumes were wonderful (and scary!), the activities and rooms fun, and the haunted house terrifying. Congratulations to Eva in Division 2 who won the jar of candy with a guess of 199, and congratulations to all the pumpkin carving contest winners. Check out the blog post here for the list of winners and for pictures. The Halloween Howl would not be able to happen without the incredible volunteer spirit that makes Tennyson such a great school -- not just for the kids, but for all of us parents as well. Thank you to the Howl team, lead by Sarah Konyer, who put on an amazing night. The team spent weeks planning the night, and then days transforming the school into the fun and spooky haunted halls. Thank you Sarah, Carmen, Darren, Janice, Jennie, Kylea, Sandra, Shana, Trevor, Margaux. Magda, Natasha, Orla, Raquel, Tricia and Vienna. And thank you to all the volunteers who helped with set-up and tear down on Friday and on the night. You're all awesome. Thank you to everyone who made the night spooktacular! . Comments are closed.
