Looking for tech and/or social media savvy volunteers

We have two exciting volunteer opportunities for someone who is tech and/or social media savvy. One volunteer could take on both roles, or it could be 2 people.

Social Media Manager
As the social media manager you will take the lead managing Lord Tennyson PAC’s Facebook and Instagram presence. Tennyson Social Media consists of 3 platforms: Instagram, Facebook page + Facebook parent group. Typical tasks include:

  • Posting suitable content to the Tennyson Facebook and Instagram feeds to keep them fresh and interesting (including holidays, and relevant school info)

  • Responding to Facebook and Instagram messages, answering questions if you can, or passing messages to the correct person
  • Coordinating the Tennyson parent Facebook Group; letting in new members, keeping an eye on posts, answering questions and keeping it  fresh and interesting
  • BONUS: Monitoring allied organizations and neighbouring school’s Facebook pages and Instagram feeds, responding to and commenting on their posts, and sharing the information with our parents in order to to build community and support each other

Technology Manager
The Tennyson PAC uses a variety of technology to communicate, store documents, host and manage the website and send out the weekly blast. We need a technology manager who can:

  • Review the technology we’re currently using and advise on better products if necessary - Currently GoDaddy, MailChip and Weebly accounts.

  • Help the PAC Executive choose and implement Tennyson PAC emails (gmail or the like)

  • Manage the PAC Google Drive which includes saving the monthly meeting minutes, updating forms/live docs and documents for the PAC Website

  • Manage the GoDaddy, MailChimp and Weebly Accounts and any new accounts that are created

The two roles will work closely with the rest of the PAC Communications team who can help with the transition and answer any questions you have to make it easy to get going. As with all volunteering positions at Tennyson you can make it as big or as small as you like. Please email me at [email protected] if you're interested.
