Thank you to Grade 7 student Lily Smetzer who invited MP Jody Wilson-Raybould to Tennyson to talk to students. Mme Lorieau helped to coordinate the visit for Lily. This past Tuesday, Canada's Minister of Justice, Attorney General, and MP for Vancouver Granville, Jody Wilson-Raybould, took time out of her busy schedule to talk about her job. After giving a short speech about her background and responsibilities, the grade 4-7 students had the opportunity to ask questions. Some of the questions included how and how often she traveled to and from Ottawa (Air Canada, a lot), her thoughts about pipelines (lots of consultation with First Nations and other citizens), and how many hours a day she worked (18-20!). While her time at Tennyson was short, it was inspiring. She encouraged students to get involved with their communities to make Canada a better place for everyone. Comments are closed.
