Location : Toss
When: 12:15-12:45 (noon hour program time)

Dec 4 - Junior Yoga (new kids that have not taken previously)
Dec 5 - Senior Yoga  (new kids that have not taken previously)

Yoga

Kids Love Abrazos introduces a free demo Yoga class for children at the Lord Tennyson Elementary at TOSS this Dec 4th for Juniors and Dec 5th for Seniors. The practice of yoga cultivates self-regulation by focusing on controlled movements and games combined with breathing awareness. Studies show that Yoga practice helps children and teens in several ways:
  • Improve fitness and physical health.
  • Reduce stress and anxiety
  • Improve optimism
  • Improve focus and school performance
  • Improve self-esteem and body image
  • Encourage creativity
  • Develop discipline and self-regulation
Yoga is all about having fun, kids learn how to:
  • Act when they feel stressed and / or anxious
  • Manage their emotions
  • Self regulate
  • Relax
  • Develop self esteem
  • Learn to be calm
When kids practice yoga it stimulates their creativity, imagination and sensibility. When the practice is constant children will develop equilibrium, flexibility, physical and mental coordination. Kids yoga is a non competitive activity, no rewards. Children learn how to identify their emotions & how to channel them.

DD Lab: Dance and Draw Laboratory

There's no boundaries when it comes to art. Join us this Dec 3rd at TOSS for a free demo session, all ages. Children don't have to paint sitting down all the time, they can draw with their whole bodies, without looking, with their voices, in the air. There are no limits! Creative arts are an important outlet for people of all ages, but many may fear that they are not good enough to dance or make art. Our Lab aims to find interesting ways to bring the arts into education. We work to engage all kinds of learners, encourage freedom of expression without anxiety and teach valuable skills such as creativity and curiosity. We move into a certain dimension, which is about the exploration, experimentation, discovery, amazement. The intention of our program is to explore the common ground between dance and drawing. Learners are able to experience how these two languages can blend together, using a sensory approach in a non-competitive setting. DD Lab focus on creating an environment that stimulates collaboration and innovation, supporting children to overcome fears that block creativity.
