Tennyson students enjoyed a fun and educational visit from Poultry in Motion, a mini-replica poultry barn, this sunny March day. The Poultry in Motion trailer consists of three sections, showing two life stages of broiler chickens, plus their parent stock – the breeders. Each section is set up as a very small scale poultry barn, showing you how poultry farming is done in BC. A presenter spoke to the students about the lifecycle of the chicken and chicken farming in BC.
You can find out more about Poultry in Motion and chicken farming on the BC Chicken Marketing Board website. There are also some great worksheet and activities that could fill an hour on a rainy spring break day.
