A huge thank you to all the students, parents and staff who supported this year’s Spellathon. We raised $13487.59, a tremendous result! The funds raised will be used to provide additional programs and educational resources beyond those provided by the VSB and government in order to significantly enhance the educational experience provided to our children.
Sixty-five students (the top fundraisers and names pulled in a random draw) were invited to pick a prize as a reward for their efforts. The prizes, all generously donated by Tennyson families, Kidsbooks, London Drugs, Tangram Creamery and Trees Organics, included Lego, games, books, gift cards, toys and mystery packages. A few students who's names were drawn were away on a field trip on Friday. We have held back some prizes and will get them to those students next week. And a big shout out to Division 5 who raised the most funds this year and will be celebrating with a a pizza lunch. Congratulations! Finally, thank you to all the teachers, family members and friends who supported our spellers, the parents who helped coordinate the event, and most importantly, the students who worked so hard to learn their dictee.
