A BIG thank you to everyone who rode their bikes last week during Bike to School Week! We had a total of 732 students and staff ride their bikes during the week, which is over 100 more bikers than in past years. The winning division with a total of 69 riders for the week was division 6, Mme van der Kuur/Ms Gaster. Everyone in the class got a free White Spot Pirate Pak coupon. Division 9, M Brian’s class came in second place with 60 riders. Division 11, Mme Leong and division 17, Mme Lichimo tied for third place with 49 bikers each for the week. This week couldn’t have happened without all the community donations from these local businesses. Green's Organic (W Broadway and Maple) provided lovely breakfast bowls on Monday. Ride On Again Bikes (W Broadway and Vine) gave us Dave for the bike tune-ups on Monday. Loblaws City Market (Arbutus and 16th Ave) provided a celebration bikers' breakfast on Friday with mini muffins, fresh fruit, dried fruit, fresh squeezed juice and coffee. White Spot Restaurant (W Broadway and Larch) provided us with the Pirate Pak coupon prize. Please support businesses that support us. Finally, thank you to all the parent and student volunteers at Tennyson for making Bike to School Week a huge success! Let's keep riding our bikes to school all the way until the end of June.
