Topic: Raising Confident Girls (to be followed by a similar presentation focused on boys on Tue, April 7)

Audrey Brashich is the author of “All Made Up: A Girl’s Guide to Seeing Through Celebrity Hype and Celebrating Real Beauty,” which has been featured on CNN, NBC, National Public Radio in the US, the CBC in Canada and in print media outlets worldwide including USA Today, New York Newsday, The Chicago Tribune, The Seattle Times, The Daily Mail (England), The Toronto Star and The Vancouver Sun. She regularly serves as a television and radio commentator on trending pop culture issues and their impact on girls and women. 

Audrey is also a former editor for teen magazines including YM and Seventeen, and her writing has appeared in The Washington Post, Teen People, Elle Girl, Girls Life, Health, Ms., Modern Bride and many national publications. As a child and teen, she modelled in New York for J. Crew, The New York Times and several teen magazines.  She holds a master’s degree in the history of popular culture with a focus on youth and gender from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and has two sons. She currently splits her time between Vancouver and New York City.
