 The second and final PAC fundraiser of the 2017/18 school year is a Spell-a-thon that will take place Friday April 20, 2018.
For the Spell-a-thon, students will take a spelling test in class (usually their weekly dictee) on Friday April 20 and raise funds for the PAC through pledges from friends and family for each correct answer they get. As an incentive for the students to get lots of pledges, small prizes will be awarded randomly and to the top fundraisers in each class. As well, there will be a pizza party for the division that raises the most funds. The spell-a-thon organizers will be sending out the pledge forms two weeks before the event. In the meantime, the Spell-a-thon organizers are looking for small incentive prizes for all grades. Examples of some awesome prizes include books (from the Scholastic book fair perhaps!), cinema tickets from Costco, gift cards from local businesses, small toys, Lego, crafts, puzzles and games. All donations are gratefully accepted; please leave them in the Spell-a-thon bin in the photocopy room, across from the office. We are hoping to get about 70 prizes if we can, Alternatively, use this letter to solicit something from a business in your neighborhood. If you have any questions, please email [email protected]. In particular, if you are going to be soliciting prizes, please check with her so we don’t bother a particular business more than once.
