The Wizard of Oz! Encore Musical Theatre Company is a company for Vancouver kids in grades 4 through 9 who LOVE musical theatre. There are 3 Tennyson students in the show this year (and one former Tennyson student). Come see Amelia, Ellie, Rhiley (all from Gr 5) and Jay (Gr 8)! This classic tale, in which a Kansas farm girl travels over the rainbow to discover the magical power of home, has been entertaining audiences for generations. Join Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, Glinda the Good Witch, Auntie Em, Uncle Henry and our favourite Munchkins and Ozians as they journey to escape the Wicked Witch of the West, her Flying Monkeys and Winkie Guards, get past the Doorman of Oz, and meet the Wizard to have their greatest wishes granted. The show is being performed at the Norman Rothstein Theatre (JCC at 41st and Oak). The shows sell out every year so get your tickets in advance! Auditions for next year's show will be in early September and are open to Gr 4s and older. The Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite theater plays of all time. I really love the storytelling and action of the screenplay. The characters also have an in-depth screen time for each of their stories. I'd love to watch this how in the school for some time. It's so great that you decided to show this play. Old and young people adore The Wizard of Oz. It seems to me that theatre play is more interesting than movie.
