Thank you to all the parents and staff who came out to the PAC meeting last night. We had a packed agenda but powered through and covered everything off in record time. There are lots of exciting events coming up in the next few months including the Scholastic Book Fair, Spell-a-thon, the Spring Fling, Track and Field, science workshops and iGirl and iGuy presentations. Of course, to make these events the big hits we want them to be, we are looking for volunteers. Volunteers Needed The Peer Tutoring Program needs a French speaking parent who can volunteer on Tuesday and/or Thursday mornings from 9am - 9:30am. Please contact vice principal Regina Vosahlo if you can help. This program pairs Gr 6 tutors with younger students to help them with their reading. This year's Spring Fling is scheduled for Fri, May 25 and Jacqueline Crummey has volunteered to be the Parent Champion again this year. Thanks Jacqueline! To help ensure another successful event this year, she is looking for volunteers to help with all aspects of the event including; performers sign-up and scheduling, sound/light logistics on the night, the ever-coveted EMCEE, bake sale, food and games. We’ll send a more detailed call-out closer to the date but in the meantime contact Jacqueline, [email protected], if you know you can help. The Scholastic Book Fair is scheduled for the week of April 16-20. Nana Yenson (thanks!), who is coordinating the book fair for the last time, is looking for volunteers to help with setting up, sales and packing up. We really need a volunteer to "shadow" Nana and take it over next year. Please contact Nana, [email protected], if you can help. The extremely popular Noon Hour Program is volunteer run and could use a bit more volunteer support. Barbara Arenson (thank you for managing the program!) is looking for a parent or two to help share the load in managing the program. If you’re able to help keep this fabulous program going please email [email protected]. Jacqueline Crummey (thanks again!) is also looking for volunteers for Track and Field this year. Parent volunteers are needed to help at practices and to support students at meets. Please contact Jacqueline, [email protected] to let her know how you can help. And finally, there are some opening on the PAC Executive for 2018/2019. To volunteer for any of the open positions please contact [email protected]. The open positions are:
