Volunteers needed to plan an amazing Community Farewell to Tennyson

As the new school is nearing completion our minds are turning to giving the old building a proper send off. We would like to host a community farewell event in June which is open to everyone, including current students,  families and staff, alumni, neighbours, former staff,  and the community.

We're looking for a group of 5 or 6 interested parents to plan and organize the event  - a committee would help share the load and draw on expertise and experience. Email [email protected] if you would like to volunteer.

The plan for the event isn't final but some ideas are to have:

• food trucks and a tea room for refreshments
• some activities and entertainment for children
  
• a large display of memorabilia and historical artifacts  in the hallways or gym
• incorporating the Spring Fling talent show
•  burying a time capsule

A lot of archiving work has already been done which is super helpful. Here is a link to photos of Tennyson that have been posted on the VSB Archive and Heritage page and memorabilia has already been amassed so they just need to be prepared for display.
