Tennyson’s Global Group is organizing “We Are Silent” day this year. It is held on Friday, Nov 20.
We Are Silent Day is a day where we encourage students to be silent and not to talk. We take a vow of silence for children’s rights and for the millions of girls across the world facing poverty or not having the right to a good education. Tennyson students will be coming to your child's class to explain We Are Silent Day this week (Monday, November 16 to Friday, November 20). If you'd like to send you're child with a loonie or a toonie (or any amount) one day this week, it would be greatly appreciated. Donations or not, we are hoping many students will participate by taking a vow of silence this Friday.
All money collected will be going to Free the Children which is a charity that focuses on young people and their education. They have projects in Asia, Africa, and Latin America (focused on children and education) and they also have programs in Canada, the U.S. and U.K (focused on service learning and active citizenship).
Thank you,
Jay and Maria (Grade 7 Global Group students)
